Lately I've been making a butterscotch-cinnamon custard inspired by Undertale!
The first time I made it, it went in a pie as intended. But my mom and housemate at the time agreed that the custard was so good that the pie crust got lost. So the next time I made it, I put it in a trifle! With graham crackers, nilla wafers, and cool whip (could probably do something else in the layers but I'm not sure what. Pie chips???)
Finally, the last time I made it, for thanksgiving at my mom's cousin's, it was basically just a cookie dip. It was a bit too thin, but it became an amazing topping for vanilla ice cream.
It's a hit every time I make it, even if I mess up a little. And there's always a little error.
Like trying to make my own brown sugar and putting in far too much molasses, or having recovered that, but then putting in too much cinnamon in addition to it not thickening up properly.
Also:
SCALLOPED POTATOES.
